Wonderpinging

I checked the synidcation files, and what worked in 1.2 still works in 1.5. [Thanks for the prompting, John.]

I’m betting that the plugin still works, too. Here’s a test of Wonderping 0.1… and it doesn’t work.

I mean, I can do a manual ping, but I’m not going to mess with manual pings. I’m really not all that chuffed about it [I don't use Wondergeeks, and I only keep up with this because people complain to me if I don't], but hey.

I need to decide whether or not to rewrite it. Ugh. WG’s usefulness isn’t what it used to be now that there are RSS feeds.

That’s true; RSS has made it largely useless. I haven’t figured out why WP1.5’s Plugin API doesn’t work like it used to, either. :sigh:

I’ve been contemplating how to re-do something WG like, and I think the answer is in making it poll syndication feeds and aggregate them, using something like Mark Pilgrim’s Universal Feed Parser [as it's liberal and will handle errors well] or, at worst, Magpie [which is a strict parser :(].
