Crying Uncle
I think the best thing that GTD has done for me is helping myself to recognize when I’m overcommitted. Aldersgate’s been wanting me to redo their site for some time, and there’ve been a number of SNAFUs that have only recently gotten fixed; now, with the house, I don’t have much time to be doing it, and besides that, they’re on a deadline, and in a few months, I probably won’t be a member there. I hate quitting stuff—I am a Morris boy, through and through—but there was just no way that I could see holding myself in their critical path.
I’m hopeful that I’ll continue to be able to do these sorts of decisions the more committed to a GTD-oriented system I get. Trust me, I have plans that are coming together for the new house. ![]()
Nicely done, Geof. It is darn hard to quit things, even when you know you need to… been there, done that. In the end, it’s worth the effort to quit, though.
